The National Agricultural Development Company (nadec)
Abak Engineering Consultants carried out the engineering safety scope for a warehouse belonging to The National Agricultural Development Company (nadec), as part of a project covering an area exceeding 27,800 square meters in Al Aziziyah District, Riyadh.
Engineering safety is considered one of the fundamental pillars in the design and operation of industrial and logistics facilities, especially warehouses that major companies rely on for inventory management and supply chain continuity.
The scope of work included preparing detailed safety plans for the warehouse in accordance with best practices in preventive engineering and risk protection systems. These plans included the study and distribution of fire protection systems, emergency exits, early warning systems, and fire suppression systems, ensuring the highest levels of safety within the facility.
The engineering solutions were also designed in compliance with the requirements of the Civil Defense and the Saudi Building Code, ensuring system approval and full compliance with regulatory standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As part of the project scope, Abak Engineering Consultants conducted a comprehensive engineering assessment of the existing safety systems within the warehouse to verify their efficiency and compliance with approved standards. This assessment resulted in the issuance of a detailed technical report outlining the current condition of the systems, along with engineering recommendations to enhance performance and improve operational safety.
Such assessments contribute to reducing operational risks and improving facility readiness to respond to emergencies, making them a key component in the management of industrial facility safety.
With the significant expansion of the logistics and warehousing sector in the Kingdom, engineering safety has become a critical element in the design and operation of modern warehouses. Compliance with recognized standards such as the Saudi Building Code and Civil Defense requirements ensures the protection of lives and property while enhancing operational efficiency within facilities.
The nadec warehouse project represents a practical example of how specialized engineering consultancy can be utilized to develop safety systems and create a safe and sustainable operational environment that supports business growth and the continuity of logistics services.
